Today, embark on a scenic drive from Kerung to Saga, which sits at an altitude of 4,400 meters. The journey will take approximately 4-5 hours, allowing you to witness the breathtaking landscapes of the Tibetan plateau along the way. As you ascend to higher altitudes, make sure to take necessary precautions to prevent altitude sickness and continue acclimatizing. 

Upon reaching Saga, take some time to rest and adjust to the increased elevation. Explore the town, interact with the locals, and soak in the unique Tibetan culture that surrounds you. Rest well and prepare yourself for the next leg of your spiritual pilgrimage. 

Overnight in Saga.

Today's adventure takes you on a mesmerizing drive from Saga to the sacred Lake Manasarovar, a journey that will span approximately 6-7 hours. As you traverse the scenic route, be prepared to witness the awe-inspiring beauty of the Tibetan landscape. Lake Manasarovar, located at an elevation of around 4,560 meters, holds immense spiritual significance for pilgrims embarking on the Kailash Kora. 

Upon arrival, take a moment to absorb the tranquil ambiance and appreciate the serenity of the holy lake. Find your accommodation near its banks and indulge in the spiritual atmosphere surrounding this revered body of water. Rest and rejuvenate, for tomorrow you will continue your journey towards Mount Kailash.

Overnight in Lake Manasarovar.

After a peaceful night near Lake Manasarovar, embark on a short 1-hour drive to Darcheng, the gateway to Mount Kailash and the starting point of the Kailash Kora. As you arrive in Darcheng, take in the majestic sight of the towering mountain ahead. Spend the day preparing for the sacred pilgrimage by organizing your belongings, checking your equipment, and ensuring you have all the necessary permits. 

 

Take the time to mentally prepare yourself for the upcoming spiritual journey, as the Kailash Kora holds deep significance for countless devotees. Rest and gather your strength for the profound experience that awaits you on the trail around Mount Kailash. 

Overnight in Darcheng.

Today, begin your Kailash Kora in earnest. Start with a short 20-minute drive from Darcheng to Yamadwar, the gateway to the spiritual trek. From there, commence your hike towards Dirapuk, which will take approximately 4 hours. As you traverse the trail, be prepared for stunning vistas of the surrounding landscape and the awe-inspiring presence of Mount Kailash. Dirapuk, situated at an elevation of 4,765 meters, will serve as your overnight stop. Take in the majestic views of the sacred mountain and its surroundings before resting for the night. 

Overnight in Derapuk.

On this day, you will embark on a challenging trek from Dirapuk to Zuthupuk. The highlight of the day is the crossing of the majestic Dormala Pass, which stands tall at an elevation of 5634 meters. After reaching the summit of the Dormala Pass, take a moment to catch your breath and soak in the natural beauty that surrounds you. Then, begin your descent towards Zuthupuk, located at an altitude of 4700 meters. 

 

The trek from the pass to Zuthupuk takes approximately 7-8 hours, covering a distance of about 18 kilometers. Upon arriving at Zutupuk, settle into your accommodation, allowing your body to rest and rejuvenate. As you rest, take the time to reflect on the incredible journey you have undertaken so far and prepare for the remaining days of the Mount Kailash kora.

Overnight in Zutupuk.

On the eighth day of the Mount Kailash kora, it's time to bid farewell to the serene surroundings of Zuthupuk and begin the descent towards Darchen. The trek back to Darchen spans approximately 14 kilometers and takes around 4-5 hours to complete. Once you arrive in Darchen, take a well-deserved rest to replenish your energy and reflect on the incredible journey you've undertaken. 

Afterward, it's time to embark on the next leg of your adventure. You will leave Darchen behind and embark on a scenic drive to Saga, a town located at a lower altitude. The drive to Saga typically takes around 6-7 hours, allowing you to witness the ever-changing landscapes and immerse yourself in the beauty of the region. 

Overnight in Saga.

Today, you will continue your exploration by embarking on a scenic drive from Saga to Kerung. This leg of the journey takes you through picturesque landscapes, offering glimpses of stunning valleys, winding rivers, and majestic mountains. As you travel, take in the beauty of the surrounding scenery and appreciate the tranquility of the region. The drive to Kerung typically takes around 6-7 hours, allowing ample time to appreciate the ever-changing vistas along the way. Kerung is a border town located at a lower altitude, providing a different cultural experience and a gateway to Nepal. 

Upon reaching Kerung, settle into your accommodation and take the opportunity to relax and unwind. On the tenth and final day of your Mount Kailash journey, you will bid farewell to Kerung and embark on the last leg of your adventure, driving to Kathmandu. As you leave Kerung behind, you will gradually descend to lower altitudes, providing a change in scenery and a chance to appreciate the lush greenery and rolling hills of the region. 

The drive from Kerung to Kathmandu typically takes around 7-8 hours, depending on the road conditions and traffic. Along the way, you will pass through charming towns, rural villages, and picturesque countryside, giving you a glimpse into the diverse culture and way of life in Nepal. Keep your camera handy to capture the stunning vistas and unique sights that unfold before you.
